Whimsy Owl Revisted

Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend-and an extra long one too here in the UK as well as in the US!

Thought I'd share my first ever Whimsy card with you-this fun Whimsy Owl is the image that made me fall in love with Whimsy Stamps. Isn't he just great?! Looks a bit worse for wear to me! I actually made this card well over a year ago, when we were all going mad for Bloom and Grow papers!

Don't forget that it's another exciting week this week at Whimsy with the new Digital Stamp release on June 1st-you may have seen some sneaky peeks on the DT blogs-they're all fantastic images once again-they just seem to get better and better! There'll also be a new challenge too to join in with so keep an eye out for that. See you soon!

Rowena

P.S. Don't forget about Lisa's special RAK event-there's still time to join in!

Featured Stampers - Wendalyn and Leslie

Happy Saturday!

If you live here in the USA, I hope you have a great long Memorial Day weekend! Happy BBQs and family outings!

Today is featured stamper day here at Whimsy and this week we have 2 stampers we'd like to feature! First is Wendalyn with her sweet card using the digital image, Hang in There!

I love her pretty papers and fabulous stitching details. The glassy glaze on the shell is the perfect accent too. Beautiful work Wendalyn! To read more about this card on Wendalyn's blog, please CLICK HERE.

And next we have Leslie's fun card using the stamp Pretty Peartunia!

This stamp always makes me smile and I think Leslie has done a great job with her. I love her pretty floral accents and the edged borders. To read more about Leslie's card, please CLICK HERE.

Thanks for sharing a little Whimsy with us ladies! Have a great weekend!

Proud to be Whimsy!

Happy Friday everyone!  If, like me, you live in good ole Blighty (UK) then you'll be gearing up for a 3-day weekend, or perhaps even a whole week off as it's the schools' half-term break this coming week - yay!

So today I have a card to show you that I made using one of Whimsy's brand new releases - this beautiful carousel horse rubber stamp set illustrated by Crissy Armstrong called 'Proud to Be'.  I'm not American, nor do I have any American relatives, but I am proud to say that I now have lots of American crafting/blogging buddies, and I just had to make a truly patriotic card using this fabulous stamp!

There's only a few days to go until our new Whimsy digi images release on 1st June! Woo-hoo!  We're having another blog hop to showcase these beauties, and we'll also have a brand new monthly challenge for you right here at the Whimsy Inspiration Blog.  You still have a few days to enter our May challenge to win 5 Whimsy digi stamps so click here to be taken to the May challenge post and get your entries in to be in with a chance to win!

Finally, if you haven't read all about our very own Lisa's special RAK event for her sister Jayme, then CLICK HERE to be taken to the post on her blog.  Crissy Armstrong has drawn a fabulous and FREE digi image for this cause as Jayme is frog-mad.  If you would like to make a card for Jayme using this image, you can download it from a link on the Whimsy Stamps store front or directly from here.

Wishing you all a great weekend and I'll 'see' you on the 1st of June for our new release hop!

Hugs,

Baseball Connor

Here is another oldie but goodie, Baseball Connor, he is such a cutie, he worked a treat on this step card.
I used some netting from an old trampoline for the backdrop.
Watch out for some new Whimsy digital images to be released on Tuesday 1st June at noon (EST)!
We have fabulous new images from all our artists and also perfectly matching sentiments from Ann Vento.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Design Team's sneak peeks over the next few days!
Thanks for dropping by!

A Whimsy Cake ?!?!

Good morning everyone!!!!  I have something a little different to share with you today.  It's a whimsy cake!  I used party pony for the invites for my daughter's party and wanted a cake to match.  So I gave my favorite baker a picture of Simmone's card as inspiration, and this is what they did with it!  Pretty cool huh?  And yummy too!!!

Good Afternoon!

Sorry to be late with this post, busy morning here! It's about 90 degrees in the shade, but the can't complain after the cold winter we had. Hope it's nice where ever you are!

Today I want to share a very special digital image, which is now available at Whimsy and it's FREE! Crissy Armstrong created this sassy Beach Baby Jayme image for our DT member Lisa's sister Jayme. Sadly, Jayme was recently diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and so Lisa is asking for our help to send her sister some smiles. You can find all the details of Lisa's RAK request on her blog, HERE.

If you would like to download this image, you can visit the Whimsy Store site or click this link to be taken to the direct download link. Please remember not to share digital stamp files even when they are free. Instead tell all your friends how they can get this image too and how they can help Lisa!

Happy Stamping,

Emma's Swing

Happy Tuesday Everyone!! Today I have the honor of sharing one of the Whimsy images and my creation using it!!

Whimsy is carrying both rubber stamps and digital images in their store!! Two weeks ago they had a new digital release and I have yet to use all of them. I just love them and just had to ink up Emma's Swing illustrated by Kevin Lynn, Denise's husband (talent must run in the family!!) and Ann's digi sentiment set Emma Swinging Sentiments. I had so much fun coloring her. I don't usually use orange but I was trying to encourage myself to think outside of the box.I used some Basic Grey Paper and colored the image with prisma and gamsol. I used the Saturday Sketch from 2 weeks ago. I so am enjoying the Scalloped Edge Frame from Spellbinders and its versatility. I laced it with ribbon. The branches are created with a fern stamp from SU.

I hope you enjoyed my creation today and that you are inspired to create or even check out the Whimsy store.

Oh I also wanted to remind you that Whimsy has a month long challenge and you still have a chance to join us.

We have a May themed recipe challenge for you .
Please use markers, pretty papers, flowers, and of course a Whimsy image!!!

Please enter your NEW creation, using the linky feature here, by 12noon EST Sunday, May 31st.

One lucky player will win 5 digital images of her choice from our Digital Stamp Collection!

Here's my blog hop creation (which you can see on my blog) using 'Party Pony':

Happy hopping everyone!

Hugs,

Show your Space Sunday

Hello and welcome to another
Show us your space Sunday!
On alternate Sundays we will be taking turns to show our workspaces and hopefully give you a bit of Whimsy Inspiration at the same time!
Now my desk is getting a bit tired now as I have shown it on Wednesdays for the past few weeks but here is a new way I decided to store my punches instead of the 3 boxes I had them in!
I am also storing my Prima roses here, they look so pretty, I might not be able to use them!
I embellished this organiser this week, so love it!  It  has Ann's fabulous crafting sentiments available from Whimsy in digital form.

.....and these are some of the things it will hold.  When I have a colouring session I like to keep the papers for each coloured image with it so I bag them up and they will now sit in the organiser until I am ready to make a card with them!

That is it from me for this week.
don't forget to drop by the rest of the DT today for some more sneak peeks and of course tomorrow is the big day, the Whimsy Carousel Horse Release Party at Noon (EST)!

Featured Stamper - Roni Johnson

Happy Saturday!

Today is featured stamper day here at Whimsy and this week we have a special stamper to share with you. Roni Johnson of Ink Stains has a wonderful blog of creations as well as tips, tricks, and tutorials for crafting projects and she also includes articles about various crafting products. Roni actually recently featured Whimsy Stamps on her blog, so I wanted to return the favor today and feature her here on our site. She's created a gorgeous carousel using only the Spring Stepping stamp set.

Here is Roni's project...

Roni used the Spring Stepping carousel horse stamp to make all the horses on her carousel and then used the Flourish accessory image and sentiments to accent and create detail around the carousel itself.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us Roni! To read more about this project, please CLICK HERE.

There are only 2 days left of our Spring Sale where you can purchase this stamp set and many other stamps from our Rubber Stamp Collections at 20% to 40% off regular price! Sale ends tomorrow!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Stamping,
Denise

Sneak Peek!!!

Good Morning everyone!!!!  I have a fun sneak peek to share with you today!!!  Crissy and Ann are releasing some fabulous new sets next Monday, May 17th and here is your first peek at one of the fabulous images!!!  These were created by my now 6 year old for her birthday party invites.  I think she did a fabulous job!!!

These were fun and easy for her to create.  I made little "kits" of papers and embellies and she helped put them together.  They are 5 1/2 in square cards and the party info is typed on the back.  I used my scraps where ever possible, so they even helped me get rid of some of those!!!  They are colored in with crayolas:)

Thanks for stopping by today, be on the lookout for more sneak peeks!!!!

And the digi release challenge is still in full swing!!!  Click HERE for more details and your chance to win!!

Have a great day,
Erin:)

Just for Grandma...

Welcome to another little slice of Whimsy inspiration to get your creative juices flowing! I'm Stacey, one of the Whimsy DT and today I would like to share with you one of the recent creations I made with one of the new images from Whimsy's Meljens Designs range. Meet 'Granny Wolf'....!

Whilst my card uses a fairly simple layout, the image is so fun that I didn't want to over clutter the card and detract from it. So, I just got nice and inky with my Copics and had a great time blinging everything up with my Stickles!

Make sure you head over to the Whimsy shop to check out the rest of the new digi stamps on offer :o)

Happy crafting!

Fairy Tale Thursday

Just had to share this creation again, I made it for the Whimsy digital Stamps release last week. These are the cute 'Red Riding Hood' and 'Granny Wolf' digital images illustrated by Melissa Jenkins of MelJen Designs.

It is still sitting on my desk as it continues to make me smile, Red Riding Hood looks so happy and the fun sentiment still gives me a giggle, it is also one of the new sentiment digis  by Ann Vento aka Raindrop Echo Designs!

***************
Watch out for a new release in rubber on Monday 17th May and you may also see some sneak peeks over the weekend, I have to tell you, you will be amazed, they are so beautiful and the new sentiments are a must have!
have a great Thursday!

Whimsy Stamps Tutorial - Merging digital images

Hello and welcome to the Whimsy Stamps Merging Tutorial!

Today I'm sharing with you some tutorials on how to merge images using some Whimsy Stamps digital images. There are a lot of possibilities for creating scenes and putting together sentiments and images. I've created three tutorials on how to merge images on three different programs: Microsoft Publisher, Word 2003 and Word 2007 all using a Windows operating system. The steps should still be similar if you're using a Mac.  My favorite program to merge images by far is Microsoft Publisher because you simply have to open the images and drag them around - no need to format the pictures.

To play/pause, just click on the tutorial screen. To enlarge the tutorial screens to Full Screen views, just click on the bottom right hand corner of the tutorial window on the box containing for arrows expanding outwards. To exit from Full Screen mode, hit the "Esc" key located at the corner left hand of your keyboard.

Merging images using Microsoft Publisher 2003 and Windows XP
(steps are identical for Publisher 2007)

Merging images using Microsoft Word 2003 and Windows XP

Merging images using Microsoft Word 2007 and Windows Vista
Here's some of my previous cards using the merging tutorial:

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed the tutorial!  Whimsy Stamps released some brand spanking new digital images on May 5th, so make sure to head over to the shop to check them out. The new release also included our new Whimsy artist: Melissa Jenkins!

Oh, I forgot to mention!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful moms, moms-to-be, grandmothers and even sisters and daughters!  Hope you are enjoying  your day today :)  I am here to share a card I made AND share my workspace!  First, here is where I get my mojo going:

It's nothing but a corner in my bedroom...but it gets the job done!  And it's quite clean in this pic compared to normal.  So in this space, I created this:

I used the adorable "Three Little Pigs," by MelJen Designs for Whimsy.  Isn't it just the cutest?  I made it for my mother for Mother's Day.  She is a pig collector, so I thought it was just perfect!  The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs for Whimsy.

Please feel free to share pics of your workspace too!  We'd love to see it! Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your day!

This is what Michelle said
'This is Gift Horse....love those big eyes and eyelashes!  Well that and that she is so talented to stand on her front 'feet' and hold a present with her back.  LOL she is coloured with my Copics and then I used a Rubber Stamp Tapestry grass stump for the grass.'
