Mix Media with Deb

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we are sharing a unique mixed media project created by Whimsy artist Deb Davis using her Irreplaceable Friend and Furever in Our Hearts clear stamp sets. These sets, along with our other Rainbow Bridge Collection products, are the perfect sets for creating projects for pet lovers or someone who as lost a furry loved one.

Deb has used card stock and then stamped on paw prints from the Furever in Our Heart set and then used chalk paint to give that distressed look. The sentiments are stamped and then cut from the Irreplaceable Friend set as well as the Border Collie image. Deb used an old book page to stamp some of the sentiments, which is such a fun idea and a great use of an otherwise neglected old book. The sentiments are glued down, making this a relatively flat mixed media project. She also finished off with some extra distressed inks around the edges.

To see more of Deb's creative works, be sure to visit her blog Amped2Stamp.

Happy Stamping and mixed media creating!

Birthday Wishes

Hello, hope you’re all enjoying the summer.  For a change good old England has been basking in a heat wave so not much crafting has been getting done!

I’m sharing a shabby card for this month’s DT post my shabby cards with this one today, not my usual colour combo but I absolutely love it.  I stamped around the edges of the layer with the In Stitches set.  I made a bit of a whoopsie when heat embossing the stenciled bird cage, I didn’t realise the stitching stamp ink hadn’t dried so it caught some of the white embossing powder.  I LOVE it!  That sure was a happy accident Smile  I finished off with a sentiment from the Lovely Lavender stamp set.

I made the flowers from Foamiran using my Peony Flower Die set as well as a  few other dies from my stash for the little flowers and a set of daisies.  I really do love making my own flowers, they’re so very easy to make and don’t take long either.

Star Princess

Happy Tuesday morning Whimsy Fans, I hope you are all
enjoying summer so far. What did you all think of the June release?
it was full of cuteness, we were spoilt for choice.

I have Star Princess by artist Kristen Winkelbauer

to share with you fine peeps today, and to frame her I used
Whimsy Shapeology die Doodled Doily, I think the black frame
really makes her stand out from the rest of the card.

Have a wonderful rest of the week Whimsy Friends!
and I will see you here again next month, until then take care for now
Mwah...xoxo Hugs Bridget xx

Puppy with Present

Hello! It's Linda here with a cute card to share with you.
For this card I used one of Lee Hollands adorable Puppies for Whimsy Stamps' June release.

I coloured him up with Zig Markers, adding some detail with a white Posca pen and fussy cutting him out.

For my card I took a piece of Tim Holtz watercolour paper and stamped some paw prints with Versamark ink, heat embossing them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 colours of Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers, and blended them over the area I knew I wanted to place my image. I stuck the embossed piece to the front of a white A2 card base and then cut a piece of patterned paper with a border die and glued that at the top. I then rounded all 4 corners with my corner chomper.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Big Balloon Celebrations stamp set onto some white cardstock, with Onyx Black Versafine Ink and cut it out with the coordinating die.

I mounted my image and my sentiment on my card with some foam tape and finished my card with a few enamel dots.

That's all from me today, enjoy your weekend!

Paws to Remember

Hi! It's my turn to post on the blog again!

This is only my second ever animal sympathy card, but these new dies and stamps from the Whimsy Stamps store are just so adorable!

I used the 'Paws to Remember' die set to cut out the paw prints from the kraft cardstock and then backed this card onto another piece of kraft cardstock as the whole of the inside of the paw is removed with die cutting. I then cut out the paw prints from black and red cardstock and reassembled the prints.

I used the 'Irreplaceable Friend' clear stamp set to stamp the sentiment.

I added a little white gel pen on the hearts to add a little depth to the shapes, and added a simple 'xoxo' at the bottom also. The washi tape and twine down the side of the card finished it off.

Thanks for looking and I can't wait to see your creations!
Happy Crafting :)

Product Spotlight - Freddie and Magical Birthday Wishes

Hello Friends,

Today we are happy to bring you another gorgeous creation by special guest Dina Kowal! I just love Dina's work and her coloring is beautiful! This time Dina has used our Wee Stamps Freddie rubber stamp as the main focal point. Dina has colored with watercolor paints and accented with Zig and Akashiya Sai markers.

Her background papers have been hand made using a Gelli Plate - 1) a solid light yellow layer, 2) a layer of darker yellow pressed with an open embossing folder, and 3) a stenciled layer of light green. So very cool!

Finally, she used Magical Birthday Wishes sentiment set to add a fun sentiment inside her card.

Be sure to stop by Dina's blog, Dina Kowal Creative, for more info on this project as well as to see all her other gorgeous creations!
